The Website Technical Services team are responsible for the smooth running of the Quaker website and to assist with any technical issues or access issues. It also provides User Support services to assist in training Friends in the use of the website.
Yearly Meeting 2017 delegated the design specifications, commissioning, implementation and liasion with the Development company to the Website Technical Services Committee and allocated the funding for the development.
The Quakers.nz website is built with two purposes: outreach to the public and inreach to provide services for Friends and online administrative functions for Monthly Meetings and the Society
Development proceded in consultation with the Outreach Committee and with other committees and with Friends as content and functions were implemented. The design and build phase took over 2 years and was within budget. The site went live to Friends in early 2020 and the public were directed from the old site in April 2020.
In 2019 Yearly Meeting agreed to the formation of a Website Oversight Committee which arbitrates if disputes arise and determines website policy.
