Yearly Meeting 2024

Yearly Meeting 2024 is to be held from the evening of Wednesday 24 April to lunchtime on Saturday 27 April at Sonninghill Girls Hostel, 19a Marama Street, Hamilton 3240.

The Preparation Day will start on Tuesday 23 April with the evening meal and conclude on the Wednesday afternoon. The Quaker Lecture will be on the evening of 25 April.

Your host Local Arrangements Committee from Mid North Island and Northern Monthly Meetings is very happy with the venue and is looking forward to welcoming Friends. You can stay in the Hostel, stay out or attend by Zoom.

Sonninghill has comfortable beds in rooms of 2-4 with good bathroom facilities. There are three beds in a wheelchair accessible unit. There is also a student carpark. The Hostel is within walking distance of the central transport centre and not far from the train station. Shuttles can be booked from the Auckland airport. At time of writing it was also possible to travel from Auckland to Hamilton by train, by Intercity bus which leaves from the city and stops at the Auckland airport and by the orange Airport link bus from the airport to meet the Te Huia train leaving at 10.07am and 6.08pm from Puhinui station and arriving at Frankton (Hamilton) at 12.15 and 8.15. . In Hamilton there are buses from the Frankton station to the transport centre and both are within walking distance of the venue. However these details are subject to change and we encourage Friends to check the relevant web pages for transport to and within Hamilton. We hope to be able to arrange pick-ups from the Hamilton airport and the Frankton station for those needing it. There is no public transport from the Hamilton airport.

Because of the requirements of the venue registration for those wanting to live in are much earlier than normal. Registration for staying in the hostel is now closed. Later registration is possible for those living out (dining requests by 4 April) or attending by Zoom (19 April). Please Friends take note of these deadlines and register as soon as you know you will be attending. NB when registering remember to note down the details of your booking and what you need to pay. It is easy to forget this!
