Yearly Meeting 2021 will be held at El Rancho, Waikanae from 14^th to 17^th May, 2021.   The preparation day before Yearly Meeting will start on Thursday 13^th May.

Kāpiti and Palmerston North Monthly Meetings look forward to welcoming Friends to Yearly Meeting at El Rancho in 2021.  We will be meeting in person with an option to connect via Zoom for those who are unable to attend.  Registration will be required for attendance in person or for joining via Zoom.  

Yearly Meeting 2021 is being held from dinner time on Friday 14 May to after lunch Monday 17 May 2021. There will also be an optional preparation day from 2pm Thursday 13 May to lunchtime on Friday 14 May.  The venue is El Rancho Camp, 58 Weggery Drive, Waikanae Beach, K­āpiti. Accommodation is in “houses” of four to ten twin-share bedrooms, and each house has a lounge and self-contained bathroom and kitchen facilities. Linen and a towel will be provided for each bed. Yearly Meeting is fully catered (vegetarian), and all meals will be served in the Elm Dining Room (see https://elrancho.co.nz/ for more information about the Elm Court facilities).

Connecting via Zoom

Those who feel unable to attend Yearly Meeting 2021 in person may connect using Zoom. If connecting by Zoom, you will need to fill in a registration form just like everyone else. All those speaking at Yearly Meeting will be asked to use microphones, so those connecting by Zoom should be able to receive good sound and take part in proceedings. Those who register to join via Zoom will receive Gold Papers by email before Yearly Meeting begins.

Registration

Please register and pay by Sunday 18 April 2021. There is a $50 late registration charge for registrations received after this date. Yearly Meeting is open to all Members of the Religious Society of Friends, or to Attenders who are commended to Yearly Meeting by their Monthly Meeting. You can choose to attend the full Yearly Meeting or only selected days (you will need to register in advance for days you do attend). The programme for the weekend will be determined after White Papers.

Transport to and from El Rancho

Long distance buses, frequent Wellington commuter trains, and the daily train (weekdays) to and from Palmerston North all pick up and drop off near Waikanae railway station. Air Chathams offers twice-daily flights from Auckland to Kapiti Coast Airport, and Sounds Air offers flights to and from Nelson and Blenheim.  The distance from Waikanae railway station to El Rancho is approximately 5 km, and local buses (280) depart the railway station at least hourly and drop off about 700m from El Rancho. Rides are available from Waikanae railway station or from Kapiti Coast Airport to El Rancho on Thursday and Friday. If you need a ride please indicate your expected arrival details on the registration form, and we will arrange your ride. Return rides from El Rancho to Waikanae or Kapiti Coast Airport will be available after lunch on Monday.

Cost of Attendance

Full details of cost are given on the registration form. As an indication, the costs for full-time attendance options are:

• Including preparation day: $442 (all-inclusive) or staying off site $264 (lunch, dinner, registration)
• Excluding preparation day: $326 (all-inclusive), or staying off site $208 (lunch, dinner, registration), or connecting by Zoom $30.

The pricing above is based on twin share accommodation, but there is an option to pay $5 extra per night for single occupancy, subject to availability.

How to make payment

Please fill in the registration form fully before submitting payment. Please make payments if possible by internet banking to BNZ account 02-0630-0180982-01, include your surname/initials and YM2021 in the spaces available. If paying by cheque please make it out to “Palmerston North Monthly Meeting” and send to YM 2021, 702 Kahuterawa Road, RD 2, Palmerston North 4472.
