Aotearoa NZ Quakers submission on Crown Minerals Amendment Bill
Aotearoa NZ Quakers have rapidly crafted a submission seeking the withdrawal of the Crown Minerals Amendment Bill using our urgent submission process. The Bill promotes petroleum exploration and production and therefore reverses Aotearoa New Zealand's Quaker supported climate change policies about moving away from fossil fuels. It is also inimical to Aotearoa New Zealand's international commitments. The Bill has been accompanied by an extraordinarily short public consultation process limiting any meaningful engagement about its contents.
