Loxley Award
The Loxley Award has been established to assist New Zealanders, Quakers or non-Quakers, to undertake a study programme or project of their choosing, in New Zealand or abroad, which promotes understanding of peace, justice and environmental issues.
The Loxley award was a result of a generous bequest from Ken Loxley of Nelson Monthly meeting. It was first proposed in May 2007. Applications for the first award began in October of the same year and it was first granted to Kate Greenaway in December 2007.
Applications
The application, instruction and referee form for the Loxley Award may be downloaded here. Applications may be for up to $25,000, and close on 15 November each year.

2026 Loxley Award
No Loxley award was made for 2026. We have however made a "Major Grant" of $15,622.85 to Australian Friend Lisa Wriley for her project to update the Conservation Game and create a bilingual te reo version to support eco-literacy and te reo learning. Lisa will also develop a schools distribution network and work with conservation groups for distribution.
2025 Loxley Awards
Two Loxley Awards were made for 2025:
2025 - Cole Martin. The first award was to $15,000 to Cole Martin, to support his work in Palestince, learning Arabic and providing news articles and information on the Palestinian situation. When Cole's trip was cut short, remaining funding was used to support his speaking tour of New Zeland in late 2025. Cole provided four reports / Newsletters on his work:

2025 - Andy Dolling: The second Award was $5,000 to Andy Dolling, providing funding to tour theatre productions on conscientious objection, a gREAT rAW and Theatre of Liberation.
