Regular Quaker Activities and Events
There are a number of regular activities among the Quaker community in New Zealand/Aotearoa. These include:
Yearly Meeting: our annual "business" meeting, where Friends gather to deal with many issues. Minutes are recorded, and an Epistle written. Yearly Meeting is held at various locations, with each Monthly Meeting taking its turn at organising the event. You can read more about our structure here.
Summer Gathering: a summer camp held in different locations in the country, organised by Monthly Meetings in turn. About 120 or more Friends (families, adults and children) gather for a 6 - 8-day camp, with many activities including lectures, discussions, walks, picnics, and a concert. Read more...
Junior Young Friends Camp: A highlight of the year for young Quakers aged 13–17 is their annual national camp, when they get to meet kids from other Meetings, learn from older teens and young adults, as well as spend time with the older adults who help guide the show. These six-night events are held in a different part of the country each year. Read more . . .
Young Friends Camp: Each year at Easter, Young Friends hold a Camp where they conduct Business, worship and play together. Read more . . .
Quaker Settlement Seminar Programme: A series of Seminars are held during the year at the Quaker Settlement at Whanganui. These are organised by the settlers, and are open to all Friends. You can download the full annual programme, or separate flyers for each seminar. Read more...
Seminars at other centres: Seminars are organised at other Meeting locations from time to time. See Quaker Events on the Home page or search on the Events menu.

The lecturers are not always Quakers, as we hope this lecture will become known throughout New Zealand as an event worth attending. Read more...
