Resilience for Activists
We live in turbulent times, wars, injustice, genocide, suppression of the truth, many, many situations currently challenge our humanitarian and spiritual values. In our Western world we have expected to be able to challenge these blatant offences against our human rights, but even this is becoming difficult.
How do we remain centred and effective in the daily struggle to understand and oppose the chaos we see unfolding across the world where every news item brings further horrors? When, as George Orwell predicted,
‘In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.’
This weekend will explore ways to keep grounded and sane, sharing ways we have found to be helpful and finding others that support and nourish the body, mind and soul. We will be exploring ways to deal with our, often overwhelming, emotions and restore personal balance in this epic journey towards a more loving and kindly world.
