Quaker Lecture 2025
Ann Zubrick
New Maps of Life
The Quaker Lecture for 2025, entitled “New maps of life” will be delivered by Ann Zubrick at 7.30 pm on Saturday 24th May in the Quiet Room at the Quaker Settlement (76 Virginia Road, Whanganui), and on Zoom. All are welcome to attend.
Ann was born in South Africa to missionary doctor parents, grew up across many countries before settling in Australia. With qualifications in speech pathology and lifespan developmental psychology, she specialized in brain injury rehabilitation and later focused on ageing and pastoral care, teaching at St Marks Theological Centre. A former Presiding Clerk of Australia Yearly Meeting (2019–2022), she now serves on the boards of Silver Wattle Quaker Centre and the National Council of Churches Australia. Her life is a jumble of choices challenging wisdom, common sense, and yearning for justice. She has come to see the Spirit’s first command as being good at life and celebrating its abundance.
