Exploring Quakerism
Exploring Quakerism
These two online offerings from Quaker Learning and Spiritual Development could be thought of as “Winter Warmers” – join with Friends from all over the country without leaving the warmth and comfort of your own home! There are two online themes: ‘Deepening Worship’ and ‘Advices and Queries’.
“Deepening Worship”
3 Thursday Evenings in July – 9, 16, 23, 7.15pm 8.45pm
“Take heed, dear Friends, of the promptings of love and truth in your heart and respond to them; they are the leadings of all that is good and pure. In each of us there is a light to show us our condition and to renew us.”
While these may be felt and responded to at any time, our Meetings for Worship are where we come together to open ourselves to this Presence.
However, this is often easier said than done!
These 3 evenings in July invite us to:
Share experiences of our own ways of ‘centring down’ or getting in ‘the zone’ or maybe our frustration at finding it difficult!
Explore some basics and tried and tested ways of ‘centring down’
Find out some of the interesting neuroscience which explains the many values of spending time in this still quiet space
If we can capture some of these contributions, they may form the basis of a useful resource for those coming to us for the first time.
Facilitators: Ann Banks & Siân Saul
