We like to share our meeting facilities with community groups at a reasonable cost. We have three spaces: the Meeting House, the Quaker Centre and the Studio. You can find further information about our three spaces below. We also have the ability for people to stay overnight in communal, low cost accommodation. 

Friends House Meeting Room

 

The Meeting House is the red brick building on the left-hand side. It has our Meeting Room. It can comfortably host meetings of 35 people. A large TV screen can be hooked up to your computer to show films, documentaries or host a remote meeting. Free Wifi is available, subject to our Quaker usage policy. The Meeting House is ideal for small exercise classes, meditation groups, lectures, local society meetings or Resident Associations’ AGMs. The building has a kitchenette and two toilets, one of which is accessible.

Quaker Centre

 

The Quaker Centre is the yellow brick building facing Moncrieff Street. The combined kitchen and meeting room can comfortably seat 20 people. The kitchen contains a cooker, microwave and a fridge. It is stocked with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, tea and coffee. There is one toilet downstairs. Free Wifi is available, subject to our Quaker usage policy. General access is via the red steps between the Meeting House and the Centre. Access for those with reduced mobility is via the lift at ground floor level. The toilet is located on the ground floor. Location

7 Moncrieff Street, Mount Victoria, Wellington

  • Public Transport: The No. 2 bus stops on Elizabeth Street and is a frequent service. Courtney Place bus stops are a 7 minute walk
  • Parking is very limited to two spaces on a first-come, first-served basis outside the Quaker Centre. Priority is given to those of limited mobility
  • Wifi is available to all users subject to our Quaker Usage Policy 
  • Alcohol cannot be served on any of our premises

 

Quaker Wifi Usage Policy

  • Wifi access use is in accordance with our Quaker values of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship of the Earth
  • Wifi access is for use only by groups and individuals who have permission to use the Quaker facilities
  • Only basic support to assist in accessing the Wifi is available
  • The Wifi bandwidth is a shared and limited resource among the Wellington Quaker facilities

Rate

$50 for half day, up to four hours per venue

$100 for full day use per venue

 

Booking is confirmed once payment is received within 7 days of receipt of our invoice.
