The new website is here!
The new website is live - still at Quakers.nz
Kia ora koutou Friends,
Welcome to the new website for Quakers in Aotearoa New Zealand. We hope you like the new layout, and also that it will work on your smart phone! Especially, we hope that the new menus, supplemented by the Search, make it simple to find the content you're looking for. We've focused on making key information easily available: finding out about Quakers, and locating a Quaker Meeting to visit.
From a technical point of view we have now completed an upgrade and migration to Drupal 10. Further upgrades are expected to be straightforward - we have been deploying later versions as the project has progressed.
As you know, maintaining the content on our website is a shared endeavour. The migration process has transferred content, but there are new tools that you will be able to use to make your pages look even better: Sidebars, Highlight boxes, Image Galleries, Accordions and more.
The website has How-to instructions for many of the Content creation tasks. We encourage you to make use of them as you consider how to improve your content. Check out the menu Website support at the top right of the page.
We've been backwards and forwards over the pages many times, but there is always the chance that something was missed. In our checking we have found a number of items which appear to be out of date so we suggest that you take this opportunity to check that the information you are responsible for still appropriate and up to date.
Contact us at help@support.quakers.nz if you're missing something and the search doesn't find it. In some cases, pages have been merged.
Here's a two-page overview of the new website:
Once you log in to the site, there is much more information - resources, minutes, appointments lists and of course Find a Friend.
If you're looking for Login instructions, check out this document. Your login name and password are the same as on the previous website.
Finally, if you need to refer back to the previous website, you'll find it at https://legacy.quakers.nz
Once again, Nau mai, Haere mai, Piki mai, Kake mai, Welcome!
From the Website Oversight Committee, Yearly Meeting Outreach Committee, Website Technical Services Team, and the good people at Communica.
